Coopers began making barrels in the Swiss Alps in 56 B.C. Barrels have been used to store and protect many different kinds of valuable things throughout history. Barrels give great protection and complete coverage to whatever is stored inside.

Like the coopers of old, the Coopers of today provide great protection and complete coverage, but now through insurance.

The present-day Coopers are direct descendants of Norman Lee Cooper, Confederate soldier and survivor of nineteen campaigns during the Civil War. Victor Alonzo Cooper Jr., our insurance agency's founder, was born in Yoakum, Texas in 1920. He graduated from Texas A&M- Kingsville and married Vivian Lee Debord from Halletsville, Texas in Florida just before he left for Germany in World War II, where he was a decorated Air Force captain.
